Couple of years back, i was happy with my wage and what i was earning. I am not a materialistic person but the money sufficed. Fast forward two years later and my wage doubled. All of a sudden i am thinking all about money money money. How do i earn more? how do i get a promotion here? bonus this bonus that.

Nothing wrong with trying to make more money as long as you don't compromise your ethics.

There's nothing wrong with wanting more money.

The problem is how you use your money.


More money = more sadaqah , more sadaqah = more hasanat = expiating of sins.

The more you earn/save the more you want or at least to sustain the income you have.

I recommend participating in some volunteer work for your community. It’s 10x more satisfying.

I make 50% more than what I did 16 months ago. I still have the same lifestyle. More money is not the answer, it's now you deal with money.

How is that greed? It's normal to aspire to make more money and be successful. When I got a promotion I was gassed too and after a year it was nothing special; I want to do more. The grind doesn't stop m8.
