I agree it shouldnβt matter if foreigners think weβre ugly but this growing sentiment that Somalis are racists or are bad people is worrisome to me

If our reputation continues to be tarnished by these false accusations then anyone will be able to rationalize any harm thatβs done to us by saying we deserve it since we are bad people

Exactly this is dangerous if people have this mindset of Somalis being racist, hostile and are simply hated by everyone, which makes us easy target in schools, work place, etc. Majority of the people in this forum don't care about the long term harm this will cause us. God forbid but imagine another Shukri Abdi incident occurs, and we get no support other than hate?

Wallahi I think some of the users on this forum are ajnabis larping as Somalis. I believe this is why they downplay that issue. Theyβll say that you need to touch grass when you bring this up or they try to downplay it. Either theyβre ajnabis larping or they have low iq

Think its an insecuriy and fear they've developed due to somalia being a shithole. But at some time you've to develop a thick skin to not let these things randoms say get to you. Think the OP of that topic about people not rating somali guys look also has a tendency to post these things as he done it multiple times. We need to keep content like that out of this site.

One thing I'll say for sure is that somalis don't know how to shut up and mind their business, why are these guys interjecting themselves in the wider sphere of interest whenever something negative is showcased or some vague identity politics issue occurs?

I'm going to go more with low iq or they simply don't live in a gaalo or majority somali area hence why they downplay the great harm this will cause for Somalis if this continues. Im already seeing ajanabis showing their face and saying out of pocket things about Somalis like we aren't human. If they can do that without consequences than imagine in real life? feel sorry for somali students in school now, I can imagine the bullying must be vicious due to the somali hate videos going viral just like recently on instagram there was a picture of barkhad abdi with a hijab on that went viral and people calling somali girls ugly with thousands of likes. Imagine students see that and bully a somali girl because of it. People aren't thinking of the negative consequences and even suicide taking place because of the bullying.

Yeah I also got told i don't look somali but eritrean. Back in the day we weren't seen as human by others so they felt confident enough to scrutinise us every chance they got. I honestly believe now is because they wanted us to assimilate or at least show interest in them, well not most since some were truly xenophobic towards us unprovoked. Is because recently some Somali girls have decided to take off the hijab and show skin and thats why we are getting some attention from ajanabi men.
No I meant in the sense that you seem think we are targeted by the general public in this grandiose scale. We definitely are known and I have seen some malevolent content against somalis, but I've also seen the same stuff against other ethnic minorities. Also, It is well known that in terms of looks horner women are top tier
