Speaking at a consultative conference, Barre argued that the current “ill-defined federalism” has fueled recurring disputes over power and resources. In a veiled critique of Ethiopia—a key influencer in Somali politics—he quipped whether federalism had been “embedded with chips” during its implementation, implying foreign interference.

HSM has really picked the best guy for the job. I have never seen a PM more subservient than Hamdi to the point he is willing to lose all dignity and honour to fufill his masters wishes. This guy will have zero future in politics once HSM is kicked out of Villa Somalia.

Either he really believes in the plan and is ride or die for Ina Suban Sabriye or he absolutely stolen enought money that he feels he's got a comfortable retirement in the UAE or Nairobi.

I believe he’s in it for the money, he’ll be living comfy over in the gulf once HSMs tenure is over.

Madoobe referred to the FGS as a corporation, and hamse is a board member. It’s nothing more, it’s lost all legitimacy and it represents no one but HSM and his vision.

The whole govt is a private company with board members huh? The national resources is redistributed among the board members not the shareholders(the citizens), it's not even a proper corporate who benefits it's shareholders, this is something like out of this world shit where the nation resources(not privately held) is then redistributed among the board members(elected officials or sometimes not even that but fams), it speaks volumes on the low human capital who can't stand on his own merit, amal, or ability and needs to leech off the qaran card(we is in power shit weeye) it's really just a form of welfare flipped the other way around rather then getting a hand out, U just take power and take the hand out without approval 😆

Somalis tend to be weird like that, always in some conflict as u noted his anti federal speech vs his federal setting its like me ranting how bad the earth is with its pain n suffering and testing tribulation yet I'm inside of it(waan caytama lakin waan kula jogga is a Somali norm niyahow they even do it with western countries always insulting it yet won't ever surrender that passport he so despises) 😆

Who said the people want federalism done with? Do you speak for all Somalis? And who brought up clan? lol a Freudian slip. The issue at hand is the implementation of the federal agenda, centralisation doesn’t work we have a whole 60 years to show for it. Those who want centralisation have ulterior un-national interests and ambitions. Thats what most people deduce from this. Why would you try something that ended in the collapse of Somalia AGAIN?

And federalism hasn't worked for 13 years so far. How much longer do we have to wait for everyone to admit federalism failed? I think the best way forward is to have a decentralized unitary state. It allows every gobol and town to manage its own affairs without the baggage of a federal system.

I don't think that's the intention here. Mogadiscio just wants the bad comparisons and competition of functioning regions out of the way. This is their long term strategy to use these methods to create unrest in regions and try to disintegrate them. After that it doesn't have to do anything else just sign defence agreement to protect Mogadishu, make money from the ocean and leave the rest of the country under occupation. Right now the problem for them is the functioning regions as competition and delegitimization it is causing.

Mogadiscio is kind of smart framing Federalism and not their extreme incompetence as the problem. They are smart at avoiding work just not doing it.

Mogadishu could disappear overnight and those regions would still be dysfunctional and corrupt. Blaming Xamar when it hasn't had any effective control over Somalia in over 30 years is silly. The fact of the matter is that federalism hasn't worked, dare I say it was never meant to work as it was invented outside of Somalia.

I don't know you how misunderstood so badly.

Xamar is worse than any of the regional governments or at least on par despite many advantages so is probably worse. That's why they want to dismantle puntland, jubbaland etc. The IC won't have other options to turn to.

Balkanization is the way forward, we all go our seperate way, let the carcass called Somalia rest in peace.. Qoslaye can become the eternal president of muqdisho, if he can manage to convert into a functioning city state

It hasn’t been implemented for 13 years, every administration in xamar has scuffled it or put it on the back burner, from HSM term one all the way through farmaajo and now in HSM term two.
