Ababda don't identify themselves as Beja. Surprised he didn't mention Beni Amer who are a mix of Tigre and Beja.

In general though, when people think of Beja they think of Hadendowa.

Bejas and Nubians are kind of laangaab. Almost all North Sudanese you find in the West are Sudanese Arabs.

Nubian languages are gonna die in a couple of generations. Beja is in a good shape as their nomadic lifestyle has prevented Arabic in gaining a strong foothold among the common man.

A group of MX students in Sudan actually studied the Beja and they have very similar culture to the Somali, one thing to note is Beja are extremely diverse confederacy consisting of the original Beja mixed in with other Cushetic, Arabs and Nubians.
They also told me the Amarar sub group of Beja are descendants of Amaanreer Isaaq of MX. They migrated there centuries ago before colonization.

Amarar (or Amarer) is a bedouin tribe of the Beja people inhabiting the mountainous country on the west side of the Red Sea from Suakin northwards towards Al-Qusayr. Between them and the Nile are the Ababda and Bisharin Beja tribes and to their south dwell the Hadendoa (another Beja subgroup).[1] The country of the Amarar is called the Atbai. Their headquarters are in the Ariab district. The tribe is divided into four great families: (1) Weled Gwilei, (2) Weled Aliab, (3) Weled Kurbab Wagadab, and (4) the Amarar proper of the Ariab district.

Nope. Sudanese people in the west are mainly from Darfur and South Sudan. Most Sudanese Arabs are migrated to places like Saudi Arabia, UAE etc. Also most Sudanese Arabs are actually Nubians. We have the same DNA as the ones in Southern Egypt.

Laangaab how?? The Bejas and Nubians fought off the British colonialisers. Your thinking of people from the Nuba mountains and Darfur.
