Indeed, it is the cutting season because it is the summer holidays here where at the airports, you see mothers and little daughters travelling to Somalia/Egypt/Kenya and the little boys (if circumcised) are left behind. I said it before and I will say it again, this is terror and cruelty combined against powerless children. The only solution is legislating tougher legislations. Authorities at the ports of entry should profile these communities who practice this evil culture and female doctors should check the little girls upon their return. Terrorism threats attracts long term incarceration and so should FGM. If the laws are tightened to the point where parents are jailed and then deported after the completion of their sentences and barring migration to the west to those families with mutilated girls, it will send a strong message to these communities because educating them has either failed or produced very minuscule positive outcome. Time for tougher actions to stop the terror against the weakest members of our society, our precious little girls.
