I just cleaned my room and had a nice hot shower. Now I'm burning some Unsi in my room and it makes me feel so relaxed. It smells great and It's so comforting. Something about it. And I've noticed people either love uunsi or hate it. I love me some uunsi.

The incense burner is called a dabqad. The Uunsi is a specially made Somali type of incense usually consisting of perfume oils, sugar, ambergris and other random stuff like sea-lion nail clippings. It's very weird.

Then there's frankincense and myrrh, which are used for mosques and Sufi holy rituals.

Yeah, it's unique to us somalis. My mom's family makes it back home for the market/trade. They send large chunks to us every year.
