I think u are thinking deeply about a f somali already sufers from too mich arabic loan words now by adopting wadaad wil kill our language.

That's how far wadaad works, the letters in Arabic we don't use is replaced with Somali letters and most people will realize as they read on
We just need a few more letters to make it more flexible and we're good
We have to be realistic how will the geeljires learn other scripts? They don't even know the latin one

Its nice, I can read it easily however like with anything new, it will take much time to get use to. I think the ultimate best option for somalia is a revised latin script with wadaad script included to boost literacy. However people on this forum just keep pushing wadaad for insignificant reasons that really dont matter. What should be prioritized is development and expansion of the language. (we can modify the arabic script no problem, just look at urdu languages. Also revising the latin script as in making it more standard and having special characters)

It's a much more civilised script and more suitable for Af-somali - extra letters added for sounds in Somali that aren't in Arabic.

People talk about these niche scripts like osmanya and kaddare(??) but for me Far wadaad/Arabic and Ge'ez is the only two realistic options for me.

The regular latin script is so terrible and very hard to read, even normal fluent somali speakers cannot read it as fast a fluent english reader can read their own language in the latin script. There should be standardization immediately. Arabic would work really well as a script aswell because Quran is taught to 99,98% of somali, most somali people know how to pronounce the letters and basic words from the quran. That knowledge can easily be transferred to a new somali script. Furthermore, arabic script is also good because arabic is among the top 5 most popular languages so the script for it has a lot of resources you can use. In my opinion, the debate for Somalis script should be between Latin and Arabic, others are just not logical in the time period we are currently in.

Most Somalis back home can easily read Arabic script, even the most ignorant tribesmen in the deek baadiya got hundreds of people within a village that can read it. Latin is not as widespread in Somaliweyn as Arabic despite being adopted 50 years ago.
