USA Joint Military exercise canceled in Berbera & Moved to Kenya

Big news. The US & partners joint military exercise that has been scheduled for February 2023 in Berbera was canceled. The location was moved to Isiolo, Kenya where it has now kicked off. The insecurity in Laascanood is a big factor to this major change

Isiolo has so many military barracks, US, british also has bases there. The place was originally inhabited by isaq and harti but now borana are the majority. I dropped by two weeks ago in this school of infantry to see a friend

i don’t think it’s true. Kenya was always a planned op. It was 6 countries including SL and they did some surveys there last month to prepare Berbera.

It was supposed to start today in Berbera so that joint military exercise is officially canceled due to security issues.

It was last month. The operation was set for 25th in Berbera, and there’s always been multiple countries hosting with Kenya first. Laascaanood situation began before that picture with the protests. So we’ll see.
