US STATE DEPARTMENT: Instability and Democratic Backsliding in Somaliland

It would be the Ugaas of murusade since Karanle are the curad of Hawiye but it’s really just an honorary title.
There isn’t any as far as I’m concerned but other hawiye users can correct me if I’m wrong

Both of you lot are right. Hawiye according to sources i read don't have a common king they were historically too spaced out and dispersed to have 1 king, so wherever there is a group of Hawiye they select leaders among themselves, for example the Ugaas of Hawiye in Ethiopia Jiidle, the Garaad of Hawiye is Karanle, in Somalia the Ugaas or most senior leaders are usually Mudulood or Murusade

But for sake of unity it is better to consider that as Curad karanle have a first say when there is a pan Hawiye agenda or gathering in Somalia

Also have the yacquub family always been the leaders of hiraab? Because I've once heard the ugaas abgaal and the other ugaas of the hiraab were more important in the old days and that the yacquub family gained their influence and power when they overthrew the ajuuraan and took/inherited their title, creating the position of the imaamate of hiraab, is this wrong?
The Yacquubis have always been the traditional leaders of both Abgaal and the greater Hiraab. As far as I know the only group who have ever opposed this was Saleebaan HG a long time ago, but they were unable to take the title
