US or UK?

What’s good. I haven’t really been active on here for the past few days for a multitude of reasons. One of those being that Ivy Day just passed and I was awaiting results. I wasn’t really expecting anything as an international student who would require financial aid but I have been pleasantly surprised! By some miracle I was accepted into Stanford and UPenn on full rides. I was waitlisted by Harvard and Columbia but this is basically a rejection since I think they waitlist more people than they reject. Now I am kind of at a crossroads. Should I stay in the UK at study at a T5 Uni or go off to the States? I feel as if uprooting my whole life to study on another continent would prove to be very difficult but the opportunity seems too good to pass up.

USA!!!!!!! you'll be hired anywhere if you attend UPenn or standford. Just suffer for 4 years

Firstly congrats, I am genuinely happy for you.
I would take the USA Stanford offer because you will end up making more money in the long run and sadly in finance, school prestige matters a lot. You are still young so you are not really losing much if you end up in a new environment.
If you plan on going into academia i.e., becoming a professor, stay in the UK, masters in the UK is 1 year and PHD is 3 years as opposed to the US where masters is 2 years and PHD is 5.

Anyways, you can never go wrong with any choice, Good luck.

I would advise to anyone from the UK that wishes to do the same that the admissions route to the US seems to be a lot easier if you do STEM A Levels. I was able to do 12 APs with little study since the content overlapped so much with my A Levels

More money to be made in the US but I’d take that route if I were you
