The Acting Deputy Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Ambassador Cherith Norman Chalet, said her country had spent nearly $3.5 billion to restore Somalia’s security over the past two decades, without achieving any results.

Norman added that the US continues to use airstrikes to target the leaders of Al-Shabaab movement, but military operations alone will not lead to victory over the terrorists.
The American Forces Africa Command explained in a report that it had launched 46 airstrikes against Al-Shabaab this year alone.

The United States expressed concern that taxes paid by local parties, including commercial establishments, to Al-Shabab are being used to launch attacks against the government.

wallahi I've never seen you post about Awdal once. Is your username a meme?

Why you worried about his username or postings, you are obsessed walahi, he is a quality poster and his views are well liked, mind your business weirdo, go talk about North Africans or something:mahubowtf:

One of the reasons why the USA refuses to acknowledge and recognize Somaliland, if they recognize Somaliland, they've officially "failed" in Somalia. They essentially don't want to acknowledge the "L" they took.

How do you pour billions into a failed state, and the end product is still a failed state? :mjlaugh:

68 IQ wasn’t worth the aid money:meleshame::wow::tocry:

They give billions to al sisi and Ethiopia yearly. Almost every African country receives billions aid money every year. 3.2B in 10+ years is a joke. I mean they can leave if they want china/Russia hell even turkey will fill the gap. Turkey spend like 21b in Libya the last 2 years. UAE spend even more. Wallahi the upcoming president needs to look east. The west is getting too comfortable in somalia.

BTW SL receives the most aid . The Isaaqs sound like the Kurds in Iraq/Syria. They booty clapped for usa/Israel for 20+ years only to find the usa recognizing the newly formed arab gov and bounced. They say shit like "we're not arabs" "we're not Muslims we're Yazidi" "The Muslims terrorist are massacring us" and other cringey stuff.Still no ictraf. The isaaqs and their lil sidekick need to give it a rest.

Pretty much. 3.5 billion/20 years = 175 million annual investment into the Somali security sector. Basically, US is saying "we're helping to rebuild Somalia on chump change". Don't know what the Americans were expecting. You get what you pay for.

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

Toxic politics from Mogadishu is adding fuel to the fire. They should've straightened their priorities first: Getting rid of Al Shabab by cooperating with the local admins. They had 3.7 years to do that and they didn't. This FGS administration is a total failure.

They spend billions in Ethiopia every year lol. They really don't care that much about Somalia and are just hedging their future bets.

If US should have used that budget to fund and create awareness of Black lives matters in US.

They treat blacks like dogs and you expect them to be good ambassadors abroad?

I agree here in the US the blacks are treated like a dog and basically like a slave, if you have a dark skin expect to be treated like a shit, it is how things work around here.:manny:
