Update Phd: Did not get accepted to Phd in Eng, but was offered another Phd, please help me decide.

So my Phd supervisor leads the Construction department, and said he can get me into the program. so it will be a Phd in construction.

personally, i feel like most universities do not have those courses, so it will be hard to become a lecturer, and i looked on linkedin and i do not see jobs specifically asking for Phd in Construction. what do you guys think? graduate with a Masters in Construction Management in Decemeber, or Do another 1.5 years for a Phd in Construction.

Most likely i will have to make my own path after the degree, I really want to be help in construction projects in Somalia, and actually bring value to the country, but i don't want my altruism to get in the way of feeding my family.

Are you a European Somali or an American one? if you're American, I wouldn't say get your phd it isn't necessary. One of my friends landed a role with a construction management bachelor's degree and a PMP certification a masters should be good enough, feed your family. I don't know too much about construction in somalia but in the tech circles I'm in I know Somali brothers who got jobs to teach at unis or work for big Somali companies with just their masters degree
