I am so happy that Dahab marina didn't go through. We need to build xamar on a better path. Perhaps using money to refurbish historical parts of the city, build green spaces and enhance our street network would be better. The last thing I'd like would be for us to become a soulless city like those in the UAE. We need culture and history, like Rome or Prague or Vienna.

They have managed to not only urbanize their nation but also not leave their citizens behind and become a playground for the rich like Dubai. Sustainability is the key, developing greenery alongside public transportation and clever urban design.

You lack a careful leader controlling ur market and stopping bad investment with no potential long-term money making involved, that money if re-directed into producing a product, u not only have real-estate plus building plus on-going product to sell and jobs created to put money in ur ppl pocket leading to more spending and investment response n market growth.

A silly govt just sits by without guiding investment to generate mass employment. Why r they not opening up market spaces globally or finding local spaces that can be served. Why r they not creating industrial parks and sub-dividing land plots and energy-water-road infrastructure. Why r they not calculating expenses-taxes-wages-revenue of the product investment and it's distribution to ensure mass 'wealth'.

What's unique about some 'modern fad building', the universal LAW to image/wealth is having something 'rare' not something in abudance worldwide, that's not image or wealth.

Tourist want to enjoy themselves primarily not look at modern buildings. If anything they want historic building with age-character-story and 'rare' in the world when they visit for architecture. They want products and services a 'market', who's creating that for u when u r wasting ur time on silly modern buildings?

Also historical buildings do make a lot of money its the main place people go during visits to a new country.

Somalia has never been Alcohol free,moonshine and spirits are infact brewed right in Mogadishu
