There were thousand's of people perishing in leaky boats attempting to reach Australia illegally and 99% of these people were Muslims fleeing Muslim countries like Malaysia and Indonesia. Why can't they settle Malaysia or Indonesia, both Muslim countries? Australia still brings genuine poor Somalis and others from refugee camps, but these tahriibs are the most privileged people who fly from their countries to Indonesia and then catch boats to Australia. They take the refugee positions allocated to those in refugee in camps, that is why Australia got tough with them and since these offshore camps were established, no boats came to Australia. Australia saved lives and refugees in refugee camps are the winners of this offshore policy.
