Since it’s not fardh the parents shouldn’t force the girls to do it. When these girls are adults, they can decide for themselves whether or not they want to do it. I think this is a more fair approach

You typed "a lot of you here" which implies Somalis see the mutilation involved in gender transitions as more moral or sane than FGM due to the more delicate wording of it in Western mass media. That might be true for other groups but not the people you're addressing.
