You telling me she lived in the west, was a grown ass woman who had all the resources to educate herself and still decided to take her 6 year old daughter back for this barbaric tradition? I’m glad she got arrested. I hope more parents who harm their children like this get arrested. Hopefully this should set an example and scare away other parents who want to do the same to their children.

It's good that the young woman spoke up, it's sad what she went through but there has to be justice. This practice must die, it is neither good religiously or health wise.
We can only speculate how many diaspora girls went through this world wide because this mentality is not simply in the UK. This is a big issue among folk, this idea that if you do not uphold bad practices you'll be cursed. It's shameful.
Also the clear lack of Islamic knowledge on the matter means people just assume it's part of the faith.
Due to all this Somalis are the face of FGM and while we are not the only ones our need to go this far doesn't help us.

It’s sunnah plus you are not to be meant to be extreme , plus when it is done in the proper manner there are no problems just like male circumcision. Which is compulsory but it seems like you don’t care about that even though it is just as painful.
