Africans letting down Africa once again. Hopefully we never fall into China's debt trap.

Too late for me, bro. I just got off the phone with Beijing. They offered me the cost of the Burj Khalifa in loans with can't refuse interest rates and, well, I couldn't refuse. The contract says I will become Xi's sex slave if I default but, god willing, I will be fine. Make dua for me, I'm on my way to the casino right now.

Utterly pathetic!

I seriously don't understand why African Nations don’t seem to grasp the simple fact that they don't need to keep borrowing money from international creditors -- as long as they build the industrial plants, factories and refineries necessary for independent economic growth.

Instead of borrowing money for every individual infrastructure project... they should build cement factories, steel mills, chemical plants, refineries, fertiliser plants and glass factories.

They should then create National banks that will issue credit for dozens of infrastructure projects -- without external debt; and Tertiary institutions should be established to churn out thousands of engineers and other technical professionals to carry out the work.

The very best, experienced upper management personnel should be sourced from Europe and Asia -- with domestic Deputies assigned to each one, so that we may directly learn how to manage these projects on our own moving forward.

I would start with fertiliser plants and rail freight lines; the billions we could make from agriculture should then be used to build all the other industrial plants.

This is what we need.

You've recently been very imaginative; are you taking creative writing classes?

Pretty sure anyone who attemps this would be assasinated by “intelligence services” though 👀

All the genuine African leaders end up dead for a reason

You're right about that; an individual that initiated such a program would most likely be assassinated, removed via a coup or removed via a Washington funded colour revolution...

..So we should draw together thousands of like-minded people before embarking on such a program; the removal of an individual would not be catastrophic because we would all be on the same program.

The CCP has over 80 million members and a significant core of valued individuals, so the removal of Xi would be irrelevant. That's precisely how we should play this.

Takes a long time to build infrastructure like that and it's not even just down to leadership

Everyone in the country needs to participate and most African countries aren't ready yet. Would take a huge cultural change and for outside nations to stop their interference

You need thousands of technical and professional personnel in a Nation of tens of millions, to achieve what I've outlined; none of the aforementioned industrial plants require the input of the entire Nation.

How many technical people do you imagine you need for a steelworks plant?

You do need your country's exploitation of its natural resources to be at a level to which you can build these industrial plants and the structure to train tens of thousands of people. Mass education, literacy, good roads, good nutrition levels and an economy that can make use of whatever you process in those plants. All of this united under a stable government

I’m so glad every country is too scared to invest into Somalis. Cheese man probably would have sold the whole country by now.

instead we own all our stuff

You're essentially saying that the Nation must be developed before it develops; you have to start from somewhere and will not be able to independently exploit your natural resources in the beginning stages of economic development.

I'm sorry, but you've not said anything that essentially rebuts my point that Tertiary institutions could train thousands of high school educated people and make use of them in infrastructure projects and agricultural enterprising.

Middle and upper management will obviously have to be sourced from elsewhere for at least a decade before being succeeded by domestic knowledge, expertise and experience. You don't need to educate millions of people before you can start developing.

Remember, we have meagre resources, so they need to be laser focused on a small set of essential programs.

But where would you get the money for that?
