UAE is not responsible for Somaliland's corruption

8 years ago i spoke about this corruption this Engineer is my Isaaq friend i was reffering to SL. Why these guys are blaming the UAE who just funded the project? It's SL who is corrupt.

Officials loot the funds and pay the company that implements the project much less than half of the money so that why everything is not perfect. Ironically, he was working in the UAE he left SL beacause of this corruption.

You have misunderstood the fund.

The $90M fund to build the corridor was funded by Abu Dhabi Development Fund and they awarded the bid with no competition and hired the technical consultant to monitor and evaluate the project.

Sure weak instutions and none existent regulations set by SL did not help.

The only positive is that this was exposed in the first rain and questions will be raised.Afterall no corridor means no money for DP World.

Real contractors stress test their infrastructure to last for the most extreme conditions.And a real government would ensure this does transpire but these infrastructure failings is shocking.
