UAE πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ condemns Talibans treatment of women

The last time the Taliban ruled Afghanistan the 2 countries that recognised them was saudi πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¦ and the uae πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ, the days they would bankroll islamist groups are over, all their money is going to modernise their countries & adapt to a post oil future. In a way this could be a blessing for backwards countries like Afghanistan/somalia who'll have to overcome this hurdle to progress.

The Taliban are the legitimate rulers. They should be recognized as such at this point.

The Taliban fully accept the nation-state and the international order that is built on the concept of national sovereignty. Externally, the Taliban have maintained that the sovereignty of the Afghan state empowers them to implement their version of an Islamic state within the boundaries of Afghanistan without foreign interference.

Internally, the Taliban are committed to building a Weberian state. It has monopolized the use of violence and extended the writ of the Afghan state beyond what other Afghan states had done in recent Afghan history

The taliban can't be legitimate rulers when the overwhelming majority of the people hate it. I actually wish the taliban could go on & prove me wrong but these guys just simply can't administer a modern state. They'll either go back to their old route of international terrorism and parish state or it'll be the status quo in which they're basically holding a nation hostage, banning females from all spheres of life & driving the whole country backwards.

the "overwehelming majority" did nothing when the Taliban took over Kabul and re-establish their rule over Afghanistan.

Nonesense.

The Afghan bureaucracy has been effectively incorporated into the Taliban. These legal, political and economic developments point to the fact that the Taliban has managed to settle down into the seat of power in Kabul and take the reins of the state. Its government has managed to provide the general population with some basic services, security and economic stability. Sanctions are the biggest problem for them currently.

It's a shit situation, but they are here to stay, the Taliban won.
