Because it's a 20 year war in which the Taliban has only grown stronger and continues to gain more land. The west went from the height of arrogance to depths of humiliation in two decades, they went from "we don't negotiate with terrorists" to withdrawing like the soviet union before them.

They should've just supported Afghan military. Taliban cant fight head on, they only fight through ambush and suicide bombs.

They have supported the Afghan military with billions in weaponry and training yet they still regularly get trashed by the Taliban. You can easily find videos online of these fights between Taliban and ANA and the incompetence of the Afghan national army is almost always apparent. The only reason nato hold land is because of their airpower, their actual troops are worthless.

Taliban is actually extremely weak and survives on Ak47's and mini weapons. Afghan military is alot more powerfull which causes taliban to hide in the bushes.

It's the African curse, the US doesn't care about Africans and so don't bother training them to a high level. If we were in the middle east we would've got access to high tech weapons like Iraq and Afghanistan.

Egypt controls the Suez canal , one of the most strategic points on earth. Consequently the US always supports the Egyptian government regardless of how they act.
