Its looking good at this point, new coach, board and players? Shouldn't be that hard to qualify as long as these niggas don't flop

That’s what I’m saying bro. They’re also going to be going into a training camp for two weeks before the matches.

Somalia should be using Eswatini as a warm up for the actual AFCON qualifiers after we (hopefully) win.

A lot of these players are under 23 also, so they have a long shelf life in the national team.

Sportnieuws.nl spoke with the man who, after the departure of Bert van Marwijk from the United Arab Emirates, is 1 of the 3 Dutch national coaches abroad. While Patrick Kluivert (Curaçao) and Stanley Menzo (Suriname) work for countries in which they have roots, Somalia is completely unknown to De Jongh.

However, Africa is familiar territory for The Champ: he lives in Kenya, trained clubs in Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa and was national coach of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland).
Somalia plays little at all. What's on the agenda?
"On March 21 and 29 we will play against Eswatini, where I was national coach in 2017 and 2018. The winner over 2 matches qualifies for the group stage of the Africa Cup qualification. Somalia has never qualified for that. Our chances? fifty-fifty."

"We need a long preparation time. 90 percent of football players play abroad, in the US, Canada, Scandinavia, Oman. We'll just have to see if they are released by their clubs. Eswatini has changed little since I was there, it is a fairly old selection."

Do you know Somali football players anyway?
"From the moment I had contact with the association, I started looking at Somali players on YouTube. I also receive messages from football players who offer themselves via Instagram. I speak to them politely, but to be honest I don't want players at a low semi-pro level."
