Al Shabaab have gained lots of confidence. They literally went on a shoot out in broad daylight against the Somali forces at the interior ministry building, all the workers were hiding inside the building while all this was happening.
Wonder what the next step for the government is since it seems like what little grip they had on security is starting to loosen up.

But like I’ve been saying to my friends since the major attack in October of last year , AS now has major government connections. It’s literally the only way to keep sneaking explosives past all these checkpoints
Somalis need to wake the f*ck up all you guys ever say is they will be defeated and then go back to sleep. Either AS has major government connections now, or major community support . It’s one of the two and neither option is good for the future of Somalia . You maybe be able to regain control of the government but if the population is with AS there’s not much you can do
