It is not about land but a man killed few weeks back (Abdi salan yusuf Hollan) he was Dhulbahante. Yes the Naleeye Ahmed were Siad Bare loyalists back in those days and the SY part of SNM so opposing sides even though their areas are like stone away from each other.

So it is not unusual for something like this to escalate to something much bigger

They will just hold him. The decree is the one made by SY, whether to kill him or pay the mag for C/salaan Yuusuf Axmed

There is no agreement between Sacad Yoonis & Dhulbahante on what to do when it comes to tit for tat killings (they always existed). Unless a agreement is made, I don't see that changing. Laws of warfare that existed between the two communities for hundreds of years can't be changed overnight.

No clan/subclan is at fault so as it appears. I suspect NageeyeAxmeed and even NiicleAxmed are agitating to kill the potentially insane SY fella acused of murder after some personal dispute with InaYuusufAxmed. I say let's apply a new Xeer between Isaaq and DhulHante accused muderers get fair trial then the victim's clan decides execution vs taking MUG
