it is essentially a fee for government provided channels (BBC)
I suppose the queen and her million relatives have to eat :siilaanyolaugh: never heard of fees being charged for broadcast, over here you either have cable and pay for it or if you are streaming you only pay your internet bill.

because in America you have commercials every 3 minutes kkkk

BBC 1, 2, 3 & 4 have no commercials whatsoever (so they are largely funded by annual TV license)

Weirdest law, what the hell is a tv license?
People rarely ever pay it but it's funding for BBC services including the news stations. Pensioners dont pay it either.

Useful shit like BBC news, BBC sport and other great TV services (I cannot stress how much I love BBC news after looking at American TV channels).

You pay TV license cause we don’t have commercials. So they gotta make money. I don’t mind it cause it ain’t that much and it means your show isn’t constantly interrupted with ads. Better quality TV as well
