Turning off radar?

So my uncle not too long ago went to xamar and i was tracking his flight using flightradar. he went with ethiopian airlines and as soon as he got to the Eritrea border/Tigray area I couldnt see his flight anymore. I could only see his plane once he landed in Addis Ababa. Whats the reason for that? Its not like they can shoot the plane out if the sky since it was at 38,000 feet.

i looked at all the other ethiopia flights and all of them go off the radar at the exact same point. As soon as it hits eritrean soil the plane suddenly vanishes off all radar

also for political reasons the plane completely avoids sudan and goes into the red sea toward saudi arabia. At one point this plane went into Yemen before turning around into Eritrea. Ethiopia has too much enemies at this point subhanallah I was so confused. I thought this nigga done fell out of the sky India 2.0 style. I was shook

That country is in shambles even internally. To hear a Habesha girl tell it, you can't even leave Addis without a military escort or the Oromos surrounding the magalaad will take you for ransom or some shit.

no way🤣🤣 walaal even the planes arent safe and they call somalia a shithole imagine. Dadkaan hala qabto at least our planes are visible even with the AS presence in the south. Our airspace is 100% controlled.

Ok i have done extensive research on this now turns out eritrea has drones and it can f*ck up the plane so radar is turned off as a precaution. Also eritrea is secretive and only has government approved routes.

Maybe the Ethiopians are illegally using Eritrea's Airspace. I'm sure each foreign airlines flying in another country must seek pre-approved permission from that country's civil aviation authority

I dont think so as Eritreans would know. Every single flight ive seen on flight radar turns off their signals, radio and radar before entering their country. This also happens for Tigray as well DESPITE their airspace being owned by the federal ethiopian government. It just shows the large scale of the conflict going on.

Look at this video, idk if u can see it if you click the link. (If you hold down the video instead of clicking it you should see it)

one cannot secretly use another countries air space.

its illegal and punishable besides that uninvited planes might be spotted by the radar stations of the Eritrean air force.

For each overflight of Ethiopian airlines via Eritrea, they pay fees.

Any flight has to be approved by the aviation authority of Eritrea.

they (Ethiopian airlines) stopped landing in Asmara after they refused the hand over the stolen luggages of Eritrean passengers

They overpriced tickets, demanding 1000$ per person for an one hour flight from Asmara to
Addis Abeba while using affordable Eritrean air space.

and they are still using Eritrean air space.

This is preaching about water and drinking wine

Also the flights that you are seeing do you see that it has dashes instead of the flight path, it means its guessing where the plane is going since radar is off. For me it just goes completely off grid

Its all legal right? I mean why would they feel the need to turn off location? Its weird. Unless its without eritrean approval or its because of the war.

also it turns off as it gets to tigray too which is a whole ass region in ethiopia. They seem to not have control over their airspace
