A deforested region receives no rainfall. Compare the source of the jubba river to the entire sool and togdheer provinces all the way up to the mountains.Source of jubba river receives 1200-1500mm of rainfall in a year, can’t compare that to the seasonal river of toghdeer.
How can the rainfall we receive be retained fore longer with little to no trees. How can we have higher evapotranspiration rates with no trees and poor soil that cause water to evaporate instead of being retained. We are screwed geologically and we created our problems over time. The oromo region is much more heavily forested and therefore naturally receives greater rainfall per annum.
