Idk if France has the balls to stand against turkey or use its military. Egypt im 50/50 and Russias presence in Libya is from the Wagner military contractors if I’m correct with numbers maybe 2k~ not so large. As i read in another thread I wouldn’t be surprised if it was pre mediated and that Libya will be split into two west and east. Or some agreement will be had with the GNA under the influence of turkey and haftar with Saudi Arabia/UAE and Russia but the country still whole.

I know that turkey would like to extend its maritime borders to drill for hydrocarbons in the Mediterranean and northern Cyprus and I’m not sure how far erdogan will go as Greece is not really on board with that as well as Egypt too and maybe possibly Israel.

This benefits turkey because then I think they’d be able to export oil and gas to Europe without relying on Russia so Russia probably has that in the back of their minds too

In reality El Sisi favors the Turkish East Med remapping as Egypt stands to gain a big chunk of the sea for its EEZ from the Turkish moves. It is of a size of Serbia. Imagine that.

Yes, some of the territory was lost, especially the loss of the town of Saraqib was not good. The Turks got caught in a surprise attack by the Russian and regime forces because the area was held under the agreement. It took the Turks a while to get their bearings together. They ended up pouring in thousands of troops. Their drones did the most damage. Russia thought it could quickly overwhelm the unsuspecting Turks.

The Egyptian moves are creating counter waves in MENA. Algeria is warning against militarization of Libyan tribes. And it looks like El-Sisi is already backtracking. In the 20th century Egypt never dared to poke its nose in Libya as Algeria has always been against it and could deliver a punch. It is a repeat of the old affairs. Who knew Erdogan had such an ally? Algeria and Tunisia are lining up with Turkey against the strong pressure from France and the UAE. Wow the shit is unfolding strangely.
