They are leftists. He is 9 seats short from a majority so he unofficially relies on them to govern. They are practically the same party today as they share and agree on the majority of issues. The NDP is refusing to pull their support and call an election because they have influence now. The alternative is 8-10+ years of Conservative rule where they are irrelevant.

We will soon be free from their tyrannical, corrupt and incompetent rule.

Regarding the polls, it seem to fluctuate quite a bit and there could be a margin of error too. While the opposition/conservatives have gained momentum and support, I don't think they'll get an outright majority.
