They never wanted to secede, they want to retake power and run the show again in Ethiopia. Otherwise they would’ve seceded like Eritrea did in the early 90s and during the 30 years they were in power.

You have to understand that Tigray is a barren land and cannot survive if it becomes independent. I mean look what’s happening now in Tigray.

They could've compromised when they had a shot at winning the civil war at the start.

Now they're deregulated as a 2nd class power in the state and at most could negotiate to keep their heads on - especially Debretsion Gebremichael

Amhara are 1000000 times worse than Tigarus.
Amhara depend on sucking the blood and natural resources of other ethnic groups and nationalists like oromia,gamelan,agew,argoba,qimant,walking Somali and many more.

They are in a position to remain free from being over-run and dominated though, so that's good enough, the only problem is, they cannot afford to remain in limbo without coming to some kind of agreement with the govt from which they get a budget, and other essential services.
