"Tourism growing in Somalia despite bad press"

"I've heard more gunshots in America than in Somalia"

In a sense, this is good news but there's no real organisation to welcome tourists in Somalia, but future tourism agencies could make tons of money, there's so many stuff you can do there, here's some examples :

First of all, BAN tourists from that nasty beach near the lighthouse, I don't mean ban literally but access to Jazeera and other cleaner beaches should be made easier and known, like any normal country brochures should be handed to tourists about where they should go

Just look at Jazeera beach, it's beautiful, clean and empty most of the time and in close proximity to Mogadishu, someone told me there's 5 other small beaches like these

In the video they show how people can rent quad bikes to ride in the sand dunes near Mogadishu

But somethings that's more common among Somalis for dalxiis is renting land cruisers trucks in groups and visiting the countryside, going hiking or pick-nicking, I've done it a couple times and if you went back home chances are you traveled in these cars often, Somalis back home go on dalxiis way more than you think they would most of the time with their whole families

There's tourism agencies that do this for the little tourists that come to SL but they only take them in the middle of nowhere to show them huts

:faysalwtf:

Sorry for the rant but for God sake please stop promoting hut culture, no one wants to see this, we have tons of stone medieval ruins all over Somaliweyn and if excavated properly could attract a lot of tourism

And recently there have been many cool restaurants that have opened in Mogadishu like the ones on the balconies of Liido beach but more interestingly they opened floating restaurants

https://twitter.com/DalsanTv/status/1124407212795998210

They serve excellent freshly caught sea food

Here's some other activities in Mogadishu

Beerta Daaruusalam

Putting this out here in the hope that someone opens a decent tourism agency one day, all you have to do is guide tourists through all of this, pick them up from the airport, hotel, hand brochures etc

tourism is an overrated trap that invites degeneracy and degenerates. and it doesnt do any major help to the economy/shacabka. look at egypt morocco indonesia etc.

Somalia is an untapped beauty waiting to be explored. Sadly, the country has no time to host tourists when Somalia is currently going through corruption and terrorism.

Not if it's properly regulated, where it becomes dangerous is when its owned by foreigners like in Jamaica, foreign companies own practically all their beaches

Why Can't Jamaicans Access Their Own Beaches?

Knowing the history of Somalia I doubt visiting cadaans would act up, and were a muslim country sxp youre not gonna see naked cadaans on your beaches anytime soon

Corruption is (hopefully) a temporary problem that can be fixed and terrorism is not a problem anymore in Xamar
Inshallah the corruption we are facing now is dismantled and replaced with a patriotic system that takes hold of terrorism and anyone looting our resources. I feel like than we should focus on infrastructure, economy boom, education, sports, health, and of course tourism by building Mogadishu from scratch.

I think visas should be heavily restricted.
Yeah 100% saxiib, Somalia for Somalis but what I'm trying to propose here is not turning our tourism sector into something like Morocco where we become overly reliant on it and it turns to shit, but just reform it and make it better, tourism is what gives a country's image

huge PR boost overall which helps attract foreign investors

We need to promote domestic tourism throughout the country. People don’t have connections in all cities, so are reluctant to travel there. The diaspora also only travel to their parents city, so don’t have the opportunity to explore their country. Some cities are known for local delicacies too, like kismaayo (xalwo) and geesaley (timir), so it would be good business for the locals too. I would love to see a professional network that makes domestic tourism like this easy for Somalis.

This has nothing to do with tourism btw Maghrebis always this degenerate side

Search up Bousbir
Nah there is a correlation with degeneracy and open tourism. See thailand, UAE and Saudi arabia since the last few years.

Only thing that can drastically improve somalis press and media is good media exports from somalia to other countries as well as centralized press.

We need to take notes from our Waqooyi cousins these guys know how to market no cap

Yeah I went to this random village in the middle of nowhere and ate with them it was so cool, the kids also showed me a cave in the ground with precious stones in it, my dad still has some but sold others

Dude Thailand is just like Morocco with their Bousbir, the widespread degeneracy and zina was introduced by American soldiers during the vietnam war, they used it as a rest and recreation (R&R) spot for US soldiers and many poor people there were introduced to prostitution, this is what started Thailand's widespread sex tourism and degenerate culture

And UAE is literally where all the rich scum of the world gather up to do their deeds unpunished, if you remember the dubai poop scandal then you know

Goverment needs to make an initiative to protect areas of interest before they're damaged

Somalia should go to the Oman route. It's basically a new holiday spot for everyone but people aren't degenerate in Oman when they travel there. They travel their for aesthetic and beautiful nature. This is what I want for Somalia in some years time when our country is back on its foot and we finally build our torusim sector.

Hablaha iyo ciyaalka somaliyeed ina la k*fsado isku diyari, that’s a guarantee if tourism were to increase.. bringing tourism to Somalia, a dirt poor country without a functioning legalsystem and protection for civilians is just evil imo

Either way I think tourism is overrated and unnecessary, even if we were a middleclass country and protection mechanisms were in place, I still wouldn’t want randoms running around

Omanis are well off, it’s not known for qurun because there is no impoverished native population to sexually exploit.
