I remember growing up as a young geeljire in these crime ridden neighbourhoods. It was tough. The amount of Madows iyo geeljires that lived there were negligent, brash, foolhardy, and imprudent.

I remember the cold and dangerous nights waiting for my TTC bus to come and having to run like Abdi Bile when the Madows iyo geeljires would chase me down to take my bus change or bus pass.
