Study Sunt Tzu’s, ‘Art of War’.
imo it's unpredictable

25 years ago Rwanda and Burundi were both going through a civil war and International observers predicted that Rwanda would become more underdeveloped than Burundi because Rwanda's civil war was far more destructive than the Burundi one. They destroyed all their infrastructure, government and economy while Burundi still retained their economy.

Fast-forward 20 years and Rwanda is one of the fastest growing African country and Burundi is one of the poorest African country.

I don't know much about economics but I am still hopeful for a functioning Somali government and state during my lifetime.

Per capita is more important.

Those countries have massive populations.

Even per capita is flawed when judging a country’s development I.e Equatorial Guinea.

IMO to judge future African counties you have to look at

HDI + GDP per capita purchasing power + Happiness index.

HDI in E-Guinea has been catching up with the GDP per capita.

But their per capita is European standard. HDI lower than Ukraine and North Africa even though GDP per capita is multiple times higher.

They simple have too much corruption which means that the majority of the population don’t feel the benefits of their economy.

That is a social problem though. It can be solved through new sociopolitical institutions.

Upping low HDI with high GDP per capita is easy (if the elites want it).

Upping low HDI with low GDP per capita is almost impossible. So E-Guinea can fix their shit if their elites want to.

Correction.

In 20 yrs time there will be a Sunni-Sectarian War between Muslim Brotherhood and Salafis in Somalia.

In 20 years time, since those who are children in the diaspora today will have little or no loyalty towards their cousins back home, there will be less remittances sent back home and the economic situation will only get worse than today. Expect wars on the depleted resources unless politicians back home take steps now to rectify this impending disaster.

That could be the case. But I still think there is going to be a race war.
