Can I ask you something?

What has occurred for you to leave Islam? Did you question the religion? Have you felt like your prayers weren’t being answered? Did you completely disbelieved Islam or is there little part of you that still shines the light for Islam? Have you told your family? Are they practicing Muslims? You’ve mentioned that your father doesn’t pray or fast. Is your mother the same?

This whole ideal about religion and following from verses on a book that were written centuries ago didn't make sense to me when I started to engage in analytical thinking about religion. Basically, education and rationality is the enemy of religion. I absolutely have no faith in Islam or any other religion for that matter but I do believe in God.
I'm Muslim by birth and that's all my family have to know. My mother is a practicing muslima but shes ok with me and my father not praying or fasting (my siblings don't pray but they do fast)

If your mother practices Islam she should know islamically her marriage to your dad is invalid if he doesn’t pray.
