The Prophet (SAW) said: “The Hour will not be established-till the people of the desert compete with one another in constructing high buildings.”

And in another Hadith:

The Prophet (SAW): “…And you will see barefoot naked poor shepherds/Bedouins vying with one another in the construction of tall buildings…”

15 out of 48 tallest buildings in the world(31.25 %) were built in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait. The largest building in the world (Burj Khalifa) was built in the UAE and the third largest building in the world (Abraj al Bayt) was built in Saudi Arabia.

How could the Prophet (SAW) have known that a country like UAE which is nearly 90 % desert would build the tallest building in the world? What Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and UAE all have in common is that they are among the few countries in the world that have no permanent rivers whatsoever!

Imam Nawawi (born 784 years ago) explained:

“The people of badia (the desert Bedouins) and their like are people of need and poverty. (A time will come) when the world will be laid open for them until they compete with one another in (the construction of) buildings, and Allah knows best“.

That was the mindset of old-timey folk. If you're 'prophesizing' the so-called 'End Times', that prophesy would include tall buildings. You'll notice these 'End Times' hadiths also put an emphasis on wealth and prosperity being commonplace. There's a reason for that too.

it's not a negative thing to have tall buildings, of course not. they show wealth and prosperity as u say it. But that still doesn't answer the question and is completely irrelevant. How did a man in the desert know that this would happen? given his time/knowledge etc.., focus on that.

The "End Times" according to Islam emphasizes some sort of gross materialism. It's an idea that's also common in most religions.

Examples: Hadiths 'prophesize' ppl will be too rich, there'll be no one to take your zakat, produce will be plentiful and large in nature, tall buildings will be rampant etc.
