I do not want to derail this thread but I'll respond to you sxb, cos you raise a good point. Sorry if it is too long.

Division usually exists because it is the best way to conquer. When colonisers arrived to Africa, it was easy to divide societies on ethnic or linguistic lines, simplifying their process of domination. Somalis were tough, because of all the factors you listed. Many British scholars at the time noted the difficulty for Somalis to accept subjugation.

Then some brilliant bastard realised that Somalis like Arabs or Europeans have some tribal divisions and used this to divide the populace. However, it still took until the 1920's for Somalia to become fully colonised.

This eventually led to Kacaan system, in which one man controlled everything and pitted tribes against each other in order to distract from his dictatorship. When this man left, the society that was based on his control collapsed, everything disappeared except for the divisions he sowed.

P.S Don't get me wrong, qabyalaad always existed but the toxic qabyalaad we know today came from the scramble of Africa.

P.P.S One might say, Ethiopia is more divided yet the cadaan could not exploit it for colonisation. However, Ethiopia was a christian nation in a period where colonisation occured ostensibly to preach Christianity to the African masses, as it was the white mans burden.

Your a great guy and your mentality is also good. But do not get in arguments with people about these sort of things because they will attack you in numbers and change your whole outlook on this topic. A lot of people have already given up so just stay away from these type of discussions.

Hey,
Just checked out this app.

To be honest, seems decent but not what I was looking for.
I thought this would be more of a kick it with your friends thing similar to like how Tagged was or something. (Lol)

Instead it seems to be more of a Tender clone as a starter up app insisting on paying VIP to use the rest of it. Which seems ok and reasonable but still limited too much. Never messaged anyone yet.

I liked it though.
I surprisingly got some likes just by using a plain photo of me not looking my best. Didn't think anything was going to happen, but somehow I always make friends and fans alike. Randomly too at that. Just me though. A nigga too cool.

Somalis need a professional matchmaker like the Asian lady on that netflix show. Preferably a middle-aged woman who is in a successful marriage. There is a gap in the market for a good matchmaker in the diaspora.

Not an APP which will be infiltrated by losers and foreigners.
