Afar is being backed by the Ethiopian federal government. It is not about ciise vs afar, the Ethiopian government is strategically displacing Somalis.

Ethiopian interference is likely to stay even with a collapse in Abiy’s government. TPLF were one of the rebel groups Somalia supported in Ethiopia in the civil war. Once TPLF gained power instead of independence like EPLF achieved, they realised they could rule Ethiopia and fund their landlocked and poor region. Tigray doesn’t have much of a future as an independent nation. So I expect the same dynamics. However TPLF has no interest in Farmaajo’s tripartite alliance (Eritrea is their number 1 enemy) and would therefore have better relations with HSM.

Personally I hope both sides fight to the death where every ENDF soldier is needed to defend Abiy so they end up leaving Somalia.

TPLF were pain in the head and too involved in Somalia's politics. They gencided us in Mogadishu. I am glad that they are gone. They created Abiye Ahmed and now he has turned on them.

TPLF now have anti-drone equipment. We’ll see if it works.

Abiy is now in Algeria requesting military support. He’s been moved to ENDF airstrip and out of Addis. We’ll see if the Turkish drones can save them again.
