Those who believe Somalis should use Latin or Arabic script to be succesful. Just look at Chinese they have their own script the Indians the Russians and all. You gotta preserve your culture and not folow the herd minndlessly.

They have large populations, we don't. We're better off using the Latin script.

We have no reason to be using Arabic at this point.

A writing is one of the most effective ways to preserve a culture and language and shows creativity. Languages like Japanese are easier to write in Latin but that would be throwing their identity and is sign on weakness.

Also Latin script does not suit Af Somali at all and people write however they feel like and is complete chaos

I would say either Wadaad script or maybe Improved Latin. My fear with the Wadaad script is the fact that were indirectly creating a cultural tie with the Arab world which would increase a lot of delusional self hating Somalis who think there Arabs. Latin would just need to be improved, that's all.

I wouldn't mind a Somali script but What Somali script should we choose? I would say Osmanya because it's older than all the other indigenous scripts and it's the best looking Somali script. I also heard when the SYL didn't want the Italians to know what they were writing, they wrote in the Osmanya. Osmanya would be the best choice for a Somali script.

There's time to go your own route and other times where you have to be practical.

Every person we can add to our economy is worth tens of thousands at min.

The harder we make it to join our ecosystem the more we lose out.

Both have a billion plus people and the script is used by hundreds of millions more.

If we created a custom script it wouldn't do anyone any good other than our pride.

A mixture of Osmanya,Kaddere and Wadaad would be good.
Each script has something the other lacks. For example, if you are used to Latin, you cant register the Osmanya A(S) because S is S for all you known. A Simplified Somali script would be good.

Should written Somali be in Latin script or in Arabic or some new/old Somali centred script like gadabursi script (Dunno what this is but apparently it existed) and Osmanya script and why?

May our experts Sheikh Cali Ibn Tidesse wal-Arabiya al Zayl’i @CaliTedesse and for the real experts @EDsomali and @Apollo voice they’re opinions?

Personally I think we should all develop and learn a Somali centred script and throw away these foreign scripts.

Language is at the core of culture and economics.

If you don't fix that first then you'll never get to the other problems.

Whatever is cheapest and least complicated is what will work with Somalia. And that just so happens to be the latin script.
