- people think they are perfect and as such it is easier to blame the world than to change
- impostor-syndrome
- maladaptive daydreams setting unrealistic standards
- difficult to break out of habitual depression and dwell in joy
- negative self-talk/image amplified by the whispers of the evil one (al a'raf 200:202)
- victim-hood is a commodity
- over-indulgence in activities that incite passions wrecks emotional stability: lower-highs, lower-lows
sadness is common place in the world because people never have enough, they would much rather gorge themselves sick on the potter's clay whilst looking across at another's entree with green eyes of envy than be grateful that they've been blessed with yet another day; you don't deserve to live but here you are, prove yourself worthy of the greatest gift of all, fill your heart with gratitude and in humility turn to god.
