The name Somali altogether is tainted. Somalia is no exception. Hence why we should change it to Adal or anything. I find the whole "we are the good somali" super cringe and I admit landers are moving shamelessly just fir recognition and that needs to end.

Somaliland was part of Adal. That's a known historical fact, nothing to do with Somalia.
Not good to project current politics onto the past. It had nothing to with SL or Somalia and actually it would have included 'Somalia' too because Puntland was also within its territory. Adal also was the suzereign over the southern Sultanate so it effectively ruled the whole thing
Any name other than Somali will do. And that's including Adal.

Adal was first of all not a nation-state but an Islamic sultanate mainly pan Somali but also including other Muslim ethnicities.
