I think Swedish law is really unusual since they have a law quite unlike to their other European neighbours as it prosecutes and charges people with rape despite the crime being considered as indecent assaults in the UK. The thing is, they basically have a lot of scenarios that all lead to a charge of rape like the act of doing anything without consent than just the straightforward definition of penetration.

Also, it seems higher because they include minor sexual offences from either gender (in the eyes of English law, not my opinion) as rape and another point is that say if a person was raped daily for a week then the police office would note down 7 charges as it was done 7 times.

Surprisingly, women can be convicted as rapists there despite them not having the same body anatomy as males which is again unlike the U.K.
