I thought we had this strange habit of praising a lost conflict. I always see Tiktok edits fkd beefs race wars. Somalis Glorifying the Ogaden war, which we lost and took a Fat L. When you lose, it doesn't matter how hard you fought, the most important thing is winning.

I cringe Everytime I see a somali responding to an Ethiopian with 1977 a war where we lost and made us spiral to a civil war. At least mention the battles where we won. Mentioning Ahmed Gurey would be enough

3 million strong Somali Republic brought the 30 million strong Ethiopian Empire to the brink of total collapse, despite their 50 plus year head start. It took a superpower to reverse it. Imagine Kuwait chopped up Saddam era Iraq in the 1980s and the Soviet Union had to physically intervene to push back the Kuwaitis lol and you basically have the Ogaden War.

It’s a fantastic reminder of what a United Somalia is capable of doing, and had the United States actually backed Somalia the way they back Ukraine today, then Ethiopia wouldn’t exist.

Regardless of how much it annoys people, this effort can never be diminished.
