Please do not take the opinion of one speaker as the offical position of all Salafis.

The scholars differ over whether or not missing Salah takes one outside the fold of Islam, some say it does and others say it doesn't. I agree with the opinion of those that say abandoning prayer altogether (you just refuse to pray ever) is what takes you outside of the fold of Islam and Allah knows best.

What the speaker was trying to say was that a criminal who has not left the fold of Islam is better than one who committed no crime but did leave the fold of Islam, which is true, and he uses extreme examples to better communicate that message in an attention grabbing manner.

We should not condemn him for his views.
