What he said was insensitive and it isn’t something a person who claims to be a upon the way of the salaf would say. His Twitter bio says he has been Muslim for 2 years so he’s still learning
This is why you should avoid Muslim twitter in general. That account at first seemed very calm and generally empathetic towards Muslims. He started some tweets that were controversial in the eyes of Lgbt/ liberal Muslims and quickly realised Muslims aren’t monolith. Then would constantly make random tweets on how he doesn’t hate sisters. I believed him at first and maybe still do, but he seems like someone who got more toxic over time due to peoples harsh responses to his normal tweets.
Then he got less empathetic and became the kinda guy where basically do haram and it’s all your fault hence the stupid prizes comment in this tweet.
He’s really an example of how a toxic environment can affect you, kinda of like the parable of the bad companion in the Hadiths.
But to be honest with you the brother has been advised to stop engaging in gender wars , to basically pipe down and just focus on talking about other aspects of Islam. He ignored the sincere naseeha which is totally his fault.
This is why I personally still feel Twitter is more harmful than beneficial when it comes to deen, because of the ignorance widely spread on Muslim twitter.
This is why if your a daee. You got be very clear/careful about what you tweet so that you are not misunderstood.
Also to not engage in multiple back and forths with random accounts.
It isn’t the Sunnah to be constantly debating. Debating and arguing hardens the heart, especially if you don’t mentally prepare yourself and constantly purify your intentions.
Seek knowledge and importantly learn the required Adab a Muslim/student of knowledge should have. The salaf would study manners for 30 years before seeking knowledge.
Ibn al-Jazari reported: Ibn al-Mubarak, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “I sought manners for thirty years and I sought sacred knowledge for twenty years. The righteous predecessors would seek manners first, then seek knowledge.”
