Thinking of Moving to France or the Netherlands, Is it a good idea?

Positives:
Great Opportunity and working with industry leaders. Amazing for my Resume

Experiencing a new country and culture. I have become caajis in Boston, it’s too much like Minneapolis. I want to see what’s in Yurub



Negatives:
I heard the North Africans there have a very bad reputation. I like my freedom and laws in America and do not want to be mistaken as a group people hate

I have a friend from the Netherlands and she told me the North Africans will harass you in the street

I heard it’s very hard for people who are Muslims to get housing in these countries, no clue if it’s actually true


Germany is also an option but I’ve had enough of German Americans in Minnesota!

Why did you choose the worst two options? The Netherlands is incredibly over population a lot of Dutch people are literally begging foreigners not to immigrate and stay where they are. My friends Dutch friends are getting problems with finding apartments/homes despite them being native so you might geuss how hard it must be for non-dutch people. It's suffering with an over density problems, and I doubt that it will be fixed in the next view years.

I don't know much about France aside it being a good place to travel, I heard that they're incredibly islamphobic and heading to right wing so maybe @Aegon can inform you about it better. Personally I advise you to go to UK (since you're from America I assume) or even Australia.

I completely agree, I am currently living in Rotterdam region and I am renting at €1300 for an apartment. Lots of jobs but extremely overpopulated and expensive.

In Minnesota €1300 is pretty normal, but that’s because Minnesota is cheap af. That’s why Somalis love Minnesota.

I’m a Software Engineering Student. My cousin has a job lined up for me and I’ll be making good money for my first job but it’s in the bay area. The rent there is like €3-5,000 euros for a regular apartment. I might just work online and live the good life in the street of Champs-Elysees

I would come with a job though and leave when its done. Is mugging regular there? The Moroccans I’ve met here in America don’t look that Arab to me. They got really curly hair, some have very tan/brown skin and some have west african facial features. Some look Mexican or Arab though. I don’t know what part of Morocco they are from

We have regularly new threads here, of Somalis wanting to escape Europe, and you want to make the opposite journey. I just posted in that thread about wanting to flee here. Yaa meeshan iga sara.



Without being dramatic, America is better for Somalis (and most other people) in most regards, unless you want a downgrade in you nolool. But goodluck I guess.


Also, before even thinking about moving here. Book a longer "vacation", where you try to see how it it is to live here, before making that decision. That's one common advice given to expats.
