Also the 2020 US census had the option for you to pick Somali as your origin. This was my first time filling the census since the last one happened while I was still in high school. But I don't think they had Somali as a choice

It looks like the African population in America grew a lot in the 2010s so now we're more visible on government applications

We got somalis in LA.

We got a decent amount of somalis in New York. NYC is expensive so most live in Buffalo and Rochester. In the northeast we got somalis living in Massachusetts, Maine, and the DMV region near D.C

In the south most somalis tend to live in Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas.

In the southwest outside of California we also got somalis living in Arizona, and Utah.

In the northwest we got a lot of somalis in Washington.



In the Midwest outside of Minnesota and Ohio we got somalis living in: Wisconsin, Kansas, north Dakota, south Dakota, Missouri, and Nebraska.

Somalis dont exist in LA maybe like 10 in irvine which is in orange County.

Sudanis are not clear cut. They’re a diverse looking Arab nationality. Some look Arabian; some look Bi-racial & some look Black.

Arab is a sub-category under the MENA umbrella in the US census. You can argue the Arab label is one that unites the Afro-Asiatic peoples who are now all Arabs.
