The people of Gedo are stoic, self-reliant people. Even though they were suffering, they still sent aid to Beledweyn. And unlike MJ, they didn't feel the need to proclaim that fact on every social media platform for self-aggrandizing reasons.

At least those rocks have oil. $100 per barrel. What does your farms have 100 shilling bananas? trying selling that to the world when every african country does the same thing. Farm land is over-rated, their the poorest economies in the world. Dry desert lands at least have a real valuable commodity. Plus u can't dig oil in the south as it means u have to destroy all the ppls homes who live there for land rights given to oil companies.
