When I looked up the development index, muslim countries ranked in the bottom half in terms of HDI and the best of them ranked in the mid 30s-40s Turkey, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi, Malaysia etc.

Why is the muslim world so behind and why is East Asia so ahead?

Japan and SK even with the labor shortage still keep their place as 3rd/6th biggest economies.

Muslims nations lack innovation is the problem. We worry to much about the life after, then too leave a productive country for the next generation.

Even china is more valuable then the ummah. They produce more stem students then the population of somalia.

Suugo analysis, stop blaming cadaans for every single misfortune was caused by the muslims themselves.

As for Ruushka, that whole country is impovrished now thanks to sanctions, its wishful thinking to believe that Ruushia would do anything to change the miserable status quo you led yourselves into.

Somalia failed to uphold the 3 pillars of a successful nation, you don't have to be a gaal to find success.

1- Social Justice(not to be confused with SJWs)
2- Rule of Law.
3- Education and Healthcare

There are 3; Singapore, Japan, SK. I'd add China too since they've industralized.

The answer for a lot of Muslim countries is a lack of stability. If Iran, Iraq, Libya didn't go through war + sanctions it'd have a very high HDI. For most, it's because of demographics, most Muslim countries have demographics like this.

The disparity in dependency ratios between world regions was the result of demographic transitions occurring at different times and speeds. In 2000, there were fewer than one dependant for every person of working age in East Asia; in most muslim countries there were more than two dependants for each working-age person, which limits economic gains a lot.

Would making less babies help perserve wealth?

Well East Asians have emulated the west for centuries now (Japan invited dozens of Westerners in the late 19th century to help build several industries like the glass and manufacturing industry. They also send thousands of Japanese men to the West to study at their universities and bring back the knowledge they have learnt and copied Prussian military and education system).

Except for China (who was already lagging behind the West before the industralization), none of the Eastern Asian countries were even on par with the West or the Middle East. I think in general they recognize the good stuff from others and take that while also holding on to their own culture.

Ofcourse you have the typical stuff that we all know that plague Muslim countries like sectarianism/poverty/sexism (how can you build a country when half of the population is not participating?)/not investing enough in science and tech/high unemployment rate etc.

1st world is the wrong term it was made up during the cold war to categorise countries based on alliences not on their econmic state
developed would be a better word

Thats how the world worked for thousands of years, do you realise you don't need 50% of the population to work to have a functioning society?
Ok, but that's in the past and even then that's not the truth as women have been working (as maids, in the factory/farm, teachers, midwife etc) for centuries now. Nowadays most people in wealthier Nations can't depend on 1 income (not including the rich) so women have to work too. Besides very few women want to be completely dependent on someone else, so they often prioritize their education to be financially independent.

If you want a functioning country with a good welfare + public transport + job prospects + clean Environment, then more than 50% of the population absolutely should work. Who else is going to pay all those taxes (hint: not the rich that hide all their assets and use tax loopholes).

The global, interest -ridden financial system undeniably puts the Western nations at an advantage. Muslim countries failed to organize themselves and support each other through trade and finance. They would have made a powerful trading bloc but every Muslim country is looking out for itself.

The reason expenses are so high is becauase women are forced to work in the first place, when you have double the people working in a society the prices will inevitably go up to match the workforce then requiring much more people to work on average to support a nation, the problem is if everyone is working that much they will either have less kids or their kids they do have will be forced to be raisedin public instutions which are buisnesses in and withint themselves
all this does is increase the gap between the rich and the poor and make a society have less functioning families and children and in turn make it have less workforce in the foreseeable future. The entire thing falls in on itself
Im not agaisnt women working but having the entire society emulate the western one is not good as clearly it is collapsong in on itself,
