"just be yourself" is the most vague and unimaginative thing I've ever heard... due to its banal nature it can be told to both shy 8 year olds that are doing class introductions and legitimately socially anxious post-traumatic Vietnam vets who went through a divorce and wanna check if they still got game or if life's worth living,
clearly not one of these situations is like the other. Yet people think one answer is applicable to both scenarios.

they wish to get rid of you, why would they advise you if they cannot advise themselves? i only take advise from someone who has walked a mile in that situation and or has been successful or failed, they have learned a lesson indeed,

if you wish to know about what divorce is like, ask a man who has been divorced, not a single guy,

besides, most humans cannot advise others, we just dont know better than the one that ask the question

Yeah its a sad thing, I wish it was economically viable for everyone to follow their dreams and not only chase money... But those who managed to squeeze in both are the real winners

While it is way better to seek advice from first hand knowledge, that doesn't mean there's something wrong with the words of those who haven't walked on that path before, just don't take their advice as an absolute fact, it's best to gather as many different ideas and viewpoints as you can in order to make your move.

i personally think a man should not rely on a check from another man but create his own business, why work for another man when he is not smarter than you?

personally i hate to work for another man, i want to take off when i want, go to mosque on Fridays, sleep in late if i wish, go on 3 days holiday short notice,

save some money, come up with a small business idea, be self employed, much better, try 10 things, 9 will fail but 10th will succeed, numbers game,

trust in Allah, leave it to him, dont say i will make this amount, leave it to him, focus on what you control, starting up, calling customers, business plan, asking for money, you control that, focus on them, not if people will give you money, if you will make money, leave that to Allah, he knows best, control what you can,

its liking asking a girl for her number, you do not control the outcome, if she will say yes and give it, or even answer the call, you only control dressing up, being a man and walking up to her and saying i find you attractive, focus on what you control

i became more successful when i focus don what i control, not the outcome, leave that to Allah, we lose sight on this more often than not,
