I do think they're pushing what they consider as "moderate Islam" in order to curb separatism and terrorism. I do think they are pushing a sort of liberal Islam. I don't like that at all but I think the claims of genocide are exaggeration. Obviously, the US doesn't care about Muslims and is pushing this stuff in order to promote US global hegemony.
