On the arms embargo, we have encouraged Somalia to engage productively with the Panel of Experts, and will continue to do so.

Somalia appears to believe that the Security Council will eventually lift the sanctions despite a lack of engagement with the panel.

The United States will not support this view which does nothing to address the problems the sanction regime was designed to address and indeed undermines the actions of the Security Council.

Inshallah Somalia is left alone to decide its future, I hope our government is working hard to come up with viable solutions to most of our problems even in the face of naysayers, because they too will reap the rewards of peace when the time comes :)

Lol can you quote me where I said they have full support of the IC? Not that they don't, it's just you casually make things up it's wild. Quote it.

And do you have comprehension problems? After reading the full statement you've come away with there isnnt support because of that one statement? Honestly farm you're boring :abuxyga:

Fuk the US. If this damn embargo is not lifted, Somalia will cease to exist as a country. These Yankees wanna keep us weak and destabilized. F that, let's go rogue, give Russia 30% of our oil and resources and be their magan.:francis:

The United States doesn't support Mogadishu, they've already sidestepped them and will give funding to federal states directly.

Why lift the embargo? So that more weapons can be sold to AlShabab in the black markets? Has the current SNA proven that they can be trusted?

How can alshabab be defeated with arms embargo in place? Amisom obviously failed.

Alshabab is still getting the ammunition, so there isn't any embargo on them while the government is crippled. Granted, this particular admin is horrible, but should they be replaced by more competent one, we need to have access to weapons.

Lol thats not true though, someone posted that here but I can write anything. Where's the evidence, an official statement from the US?

The ambassador to Somalia promised this to the federal states when they met him in Nairobi. We will find out soon enough if it was implemented as federal states constantly complain about not receiving any funding from Mogadishu.

Why would this even bother you? Would you like it if Dayniile received zero investment, aid and development?

People need to look things on different perspectives. The average somali doesn't fear death and is a perfect fighter for war. If the SNA gets the equipment of AMISON and their paycheck, it is very likely Somalia will not be not only a threat to Alshebab, but Kenya and Ethopia as well, hence the IC will never allow it, harsh truth.

I liked your threads about polygamie, how a man has to treat his wife in Islam or Islamic topics in general. What have happened to you sister ?

Without that arms embargo removed than al shaytan and rogue states can do as they wish like traveling to amxaars/bantus for their orders to destroy the nation even further

That is factually inaccurate, the US ambassador to Somalia Mr. Yammamotto has time and again emphasized the US support for the Federal government. He only played a mediating role between the FMS and the FGS in that Nairobi meeting, there has been no evidence or any indication that there will be direct funding to states. On the contrary to this nonsensical thread the call for international support for the FGS is only growing with support growing from even China.

"Somalia is an important country in the Horn of Africa. Maintaining peace and stability in the country is in the common interests of the region and international community as a whole," Yao Shaojun, minister counselor and political coordinator of China's permanent mission to the United Nations, told the Security Council.

He asked for full respect for the ownership of the Somali federal government in domestic affairs. "We should respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Somalia, help establish an authoritative and capable federal government, and optimize its federal institutions."

"We should strengthen communication and coordination with the Somali government, give full play to its own initiative, and improve its ability to achieve development on its own," he added.

I doubt that even if we "engaged" like they wanted they still wouldn't lift the embargo.

It isn't in the interest of the security council for Somalia to interfere with their plans for the region.

Somalia and Eritrea are the only unpredictable countries in a region of willing puppets.

The arms embargo is hindering SNA more than Al Shabaab and maybe that's the real reason for it.
